Is A French Bulldog For Me?

Is A French Bulldog Perfect For Me?

Celebrities including Martha Stewart and Lady Gaga have theirs. Why not you?

Truth be told, all French Bulldogs are the best pet dogs, and you shouldn’t dispute that. Yes! They come wagging their little tails looking at you with their gloomy faces and seemingly “ugly” and chunky appearance, but wait until they play around the house. Frenchies are always the life of the party! They are fun to be with, comical and openly amiable, although it isn’t just their personality that seems to make them the best pets. Furthermore, being naturally pleasant and comfortable in an apartment, means that they love cuddles and being close to their human.

All about their Unique Personality

If it’s about being friendly, all Frenchies are the most charming, are politely reserved and will announce their presence with a small bark. They are naturally quiet (usually) and peaceable friends. With them in your home, dull moments will be a thing of the past!

Their personality extends to their hard-to-break relationships with man

If you are looking for that friend who is ever real and will never disappoint you, find a French Bulldog. With their loyalty and being a true lap dog, you can successfully train them to behave well. They truly stick by their owner’s side. You will never have to worry about leaving them around with small kids because, well, they are very caring, sweet and considerate.

And, yes! Currently, French Bulldogs are possibly the most sought after pedigree breeds

Since less than a decade ago, stats show that most pet junkies and sworn animal lovers are leaning towards them, and it’s not hard to guess why! Being one of the most popular dog breeds: hilarious and sweet, having yours is a safe investment.

They love food, and that’s amazing 🙂

Standing around 12-inches in height and their weight, depending on how you feed them, they often require no special attention. Just walk them around every day, make sure they get to sit on your lap, groom and train them. But, beware; Frenchies are highly sensitive to hot temperature, especially during those intense moments of the year.

One of their funny traits includes their affectionate nature towards food. If you would like your little friend to be submissive, use food. They are quite stubborn and once they understand your commands, be ready for a fun and loyal partner.

You will need this dog breed of you are looking for a pet that is:

  • Small and sturdy with a short easy-care coat
  • Fun, playful and easy to stay with in your apartment
  • Polite and safe with your toddlers and children
  • Frisky and passionate about ball chasing
  • Doesn’t need too much exercise

what the frenchie

[…] even if you are only thinking about getting one, it’s always a good idea to study up on their traits, personality and training […]

I am wondering how easy it is to house break a frenchie? I’ve only had large breed dogs in the past. Dobermans, husky and bouvier. I’ve been told small breeds are harder.

They are a bit stubborn! Fira is 1 year and 2 months old and she’s not completely potty trained. She knows to go outside but if she’s inside too long, she also doesn’t know to hold it. So, anytime after she eats or sleeps, we put her in her play pen or on the bed and take her outside to pee before she’s allowed to run around in the house.

Eels this isn’t good news. I have read frenchies aren’t easy to potty train and we have a 12 week old Frenchmen puppy and a doggy door he can navigate, plus 2 other dogs we hoped could teach him where to potty. i appreciate the advice and will continue to take him out often.

It’s not too bad! As long you’re consistent and aware of their schedule, it’s pretty smooth. Fira learned from her brother too–since you already hae 2 other dogs in the house it should help a LOT. When she didn’t pee outside right away, I took her back in to her crate/pen or bed then took her back again in 15 mins. And gave her treats everytime she did it. She now knows “go potty” means pee outside right away. Good luck!!
