Must Have For Travel: Bark Potty

bark potty

As much as we travel, dealing with potty time on the road and in hotels can be a hassle, especially when we are still potty training Fira! The options out there are pretty limited–pee pads (which we try not to use) or grass patches (which can rot and are hard to travel with). We tried something brand new on the market called Bark Potty “Dog Park in a Box” and here are our thoughts…

The eco-friendly packaging is light, durable (and cute!)–just peel the perforated edges up to reveal the natural tree bark ingredients. Just like the park! The tree bark’s scent is like cedar wood chips and breaks down odors so it always smells fresh.

We loved this part of the box! There is a handy roll of waste bags on the side of the box.

So, why do you need Bark Potty?

We used this while we were in NYC and it was perfect for those times we didn’t have access to a grassy dirt area (umm, those are really hard to find in NYC unless you’re in the middle of a park!) or not wanting to go out on the streets at 3 in the morning. This product would be GREAT for those who live in rainy/snowy cities and especially for apartment dwellers. We all know too well about those poop strikes… Weston and Fira hate going outside to potty when it’s wet and raining!

TIP: The best time to introduce them to potty on Bark Potty for the first time is in the morning when they for sure have a full bladder. Fira went right away, we gave her lots of love and encouraged her to go on it.

This product definitely promotes going potty “outdoors” for home use and we are big fans of it for travel and hotel use! Their monthly subscription is surprisingly affordable (or purchase by the unit) at $18 per box + FREE shipping, which should last 2-4 weeks. The great thing about these is that you can buy in bulk, stack them up in storage and they will not rot or go bad.
